Our Story

My name is Scotty Crandlemire. I am the founder of Angel Aire. Several years ago, I had the honor of spreading the ashes of a friend, after his passing. His parting wish was to have his ashes spread at the National Championship Air Races held each year in Reno, NV, where we were both competitors. I coordinated a date and time to coincide with the start of an air race. The setting and timing were perfect. The spreading of the ashes was not. The ashes did not evenly disperse. They fell to the ground in large piles, much of them falling onto my shoes. All in attendance said it went well, but it was not the ceremony I had envisioned- his remains dancing away into the breeze for eternity. I laid awake nights wondering how I could have made that a more memorable event. From that point, as the saying goes, “necessity is the mother of invention”. Approximately two years later, and a lot of trial and error, the Angel Aire urn came to fruition.
